GPS Legal LLP advises Buddy Bites on its US$4.2 million Series A financing

GPS Legal LLP represented Buddy Bites, a Hong Kong-founded direct-to-consumer pet nutrition and e-commerce platform, in connection with its US$4.2 million Series A funding round led by Digitalis Ventures, marking the firm's first investment in an Asia-based petfood company. Co-founded in 2020 by Ryan Black and Chris Lee, Buddy Bites provides subscription-led pet food for urban pet owners across the Asia-Pacific region. Its platform supports personalised caloric and nutritional meal planning based on an animal’s breed, age and activity level. The company currently serves customers in Hong Kong and Singapore, with product offerings for both dogs and cats.

The financing will support Buddy Bites’ planned expansion into Taiwan, the continued growth of its cat food range, research and development for shelf-stable fresh dog food categories, and its local animal-shelter donation programme.
